South East Queensland First Nations Health Equity In Action Conference Returns in 2025
The South East Queensland First Nations Health Equity (SEQFNHE) partners are pleased to announce the return of the annual In Action Conference for 2025. As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing health equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, the conference will take place in Meanjin (Brisbane) at the Brisbane Convention Centre over two days in late October.

The 2025 event, to be held 23-24 October, will build on the success of the 2024 conference.
It will bring together key Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Services, Primary Health Networks (PHN’s), Hospital and health Services (HHS’s), the Mater, Queensland Ambulance Service, Children’s Health Queensland and other stakeholders.
Sessions will include keynote presentations, data sharing and long-format workshops to progress key areas of focus. Workshops will focus on:
- Developing a culturally safe workforce
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Supporting children and families
- Justice health
- Cancer screening
- Knowledge sharing
The conference supports the refreshed SEQ First Nations Health Equity Strategy, aligning efforts to reach health equity by 2031.

South East Queensland First Nations Health Equity is a collaboration of key partners across the South East Queensland health system to address the health inequities experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our region. It brings together South East Queensland’s Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (CCHSs), Primary Health Networks (PHNs), Hospital and Health Services (HHSs), the Mater, and the Queensland Ambulance Service to collaborate on a systems-focused and networked approach to achieving health system reform in South East Queensland.
